Year 1 Visit the Museum

6th February 2017

The Royal Albert Museum Our amazing museum in Queens Street is absolutely FREE to enter for adults and children. Everyone in Year 1 and 2 has walked into town recently to explore the treasure within.

Jacob from Class 2E said “I saw a boar and a bear, the difference is one has horns, maybe they are called tusks… I’ll find out this afternoon when I have my computer time”.

Year 1 made their visit last Tuesday and with a great ‘Spot this Exhibit’ sheet.

I was fortunate enough to be able to join the Y1 and Y2 visits and felt proud of the way the children walked through town and moved around the museum looking, reading information, asking great questions and generally being amazed at our wonderful world, past and present.

Half term is coming up, why not pop in? Visit the Butterfly Room, see the elephant, moose, tiger, pelican, starfish and many other fascinating animals and objects. Discover shields, armour, a quietly ticking Grandfather Clock – there is even a chicken to see, to celebrate this worldwide and distinctive breed of bird.
