Parent View gives you the chance to tell us what you think about your child’s school.
Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of your child’s school, from the quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. If your child is at a boarding or a residential special school, it also asks for your opinion on five aspects of your child’s boarding or welfare. We will use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when. A screencast demonstrating how to register and complete a survey on Parent View is available on the How to use Parent View page.

Dear Parent/Carer,

We have just received the final report from OFSTED following our inspection on the 8th and 9th July 2015 and I am pleased to distribute a copy to you. The report will be published and downloadable from the OFSTED website in September.

I am sure that you will be delighted to read about the marvellous behaviour of our Stoke Hill children, about their high attainment and fabulous attitudes to learning.

Please enjoy reading the report, it is a long one as the process was very rigorous. We hardly had time to draw breath on the inspection days but were confident in the children, in the learning the inspectors observed and the high quality of the activities that take place every day, school inspection or not.

The three inspectors made judgements and commented on many aspects of school life in order to reach their conclusions. Even before they arrived they had examined the attainment and progress of the children over time and had studied the school’s own self-evaluation and improvement plans.

Evidence was collected in many ways including interviewing staff and governors, talking to children, observing lessons (21 in total) evaluating children’s learning in books, scrutinising documentation including the school’s tracking and assessment procedures. Inspectors reviewed our ‘Parent View’ responses and evaluated every aspect of our school!

In partnership with you, OFSTED’s outstanding judgements are fantastic recognition of the tireless work and commitment of so many people.

We were described by the lead inspector as an ‘improved and improving school’, and look forward to a new school year in September to improve some more!

With best wishes for the summer holidays,

Mrs Sarah Mackay
