Free School Meals and The Pupil Premium Grant

 

If you think that your income is low and you receive any of the benefits listed, then you are eligible for Free School Meals and also the Pupil Premium Grant.

 

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit.
 
 

Infant children automatically receive the universal free school meal, but please apply to receive the Pupil Premium Grant.

 

Once eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) you will be able to claim:

 

£30 worth of school uniform from Thomas Moore

A reduction of 75% discount on every school visit including the Year 6 residential

Attendance at the Junior School Breakfast club for FREE

 ...plus the school will receive additional funding to support learning for your child

 

How to apply:

  • Phone 0345 155 1019 (Devon County Council) and ask whoever answers the phone to make a Free School Meals/Pupil Premium ‘eligibility check’ for you. You will need your National Insurance number, your child’s date of birth and your address/contact details

 

  • Apply online: by downloading an application form from www.devon.gov.uk   Search for ‘free school meals’ then scroll down to the bottom option , select ‘universal free school. meals a to find the form.
