The Exe Estuary with Year 1

11th March 2016

Year 1 had a fantastic day out on the River Exe on Monday 11th March. With great excitement (and with fabulous behaviour) they sailed from Topsham to Exmouth. The weather was glorious and we took in all the sights along the way.
We couldn't believe our luck when we saw two seals basking in the sunshine! What a fantastic surprise. After enjoying a lovely picnic lunch on the beach we walked around the marina sketching all the different types of boats.
For lots of children this was their first ever experience on a boat and we hope this day out has given them some wonderful memories to treasure for many years to come.
Lunch on the beach, what could be nicer on a sunny school Monday.
Some real life inspiration for young artists in Year 1.
Their sketches are the start of artwork that will evenually be part of a beautiful collage destined to hang over the school hall doorway.
