Teaching Assistant - Junior School (supporting children with medical needs) & 1:1 MTA within post

Working hours: Monday - Friday 8.30 am - 1.30 pm
8.30 am - 12.30 pm - Grade C (£9.55 per hour)
12.30 pm - 1.30 pm - Grade B (£9.18 per hour)
 
We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support children with specific medical needs.  Ideally the candidate will be someone who already has some experience of working with a child with medical needs such as diabetes but full training will be given.  Applicants should be kind, caring, enthusiastic and be able to work as part of a team whilst using your own initiative.  You will need to be a good communicator and must therefore have an excellent understanding of both the verbal and written English language.

 

The job involves 1:1 support ensuring medical needs are met and to support the child in the classroom alongside the class teacher and at times other pupils in the class and staff across the school.

 

 Some of the time (1 hour per day) involves supporting a child at lunchtime and this hour will be paid at a B grade, spine point 2, (£9.18 per hour), the remaining hours will be C grade, spine point 4, £9.55 per hour.

 

The position is temporary due to a change in curriculum needs and is to commence as soon as possible pending appointment and the safer recruitment checks.

1:1 Mealtime Assistant (care of a child with specific medical needs) - Junior School

Working hours: 12.20 pm - 1.35 pm Monday-Friday, 6.25 hours in total
Grade B: £9.18 per hour
 

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring person to join our friendly team of mealtime assistants based at Stoke Hill Junior School.  The role will involve specific 1:1 care of a child with medical needs (for which training will be given), ensuring that the child remains safe and happy over the lunchtime period.  You will need to be a good communicator and must therefore have an excellent understanding of both the verbal and written English language.

 

The position is fixed term linked to additional SEN funding the school receives and the role is to commence as soon as possible pending appointment and the safer recruitment checks.
